A Tesco manager's act of kindness towards a cancer patient is going super viral

Lovely people all round. :)

THIS TESCO WORKER’S act of kindness is going viral today, and for good reason.

It all started when Vicky Mersey called a Tesco store in Cardiff in order to have some food delivered to her friend who was sick after a particularly tough session of chemotherapy.

Her friend lived more than 50 miles away, and Vicky was panicked to see that there were no available slots with the Tesco’s delivery service.

After a quick call, on-duty Tesco manager Gemma Cannon went above and beyond to make sure Mersey’s friend got her delivery, by arranging for a nutritious care package to be delivered–free of charge and in just one hour.

Vicky took to Facebook to express her disbelief.

I’m an emotional wreck! Today I called your Cardiff store to ask for help as a friend of mine who has been through a very gruelling chemotherapy session.
I was hoping to get a delivery of low hassle foods to her so she has something nourishing until she was up and about again. The online delivery slots were full and I live in Bristol and couldn’t take it there myself.

She went on to say that she literally burst into tears when she put the phone down after hearing Gemma’s generous offer.

I had also approached another major supermarket earlier who had said they couldn’t help, but Gemma thought outside of the box with her random act of kindness.

The post has been liked over 162,000 since it was posted on Wednesday.

Speaking to Wales Online, Vicky said she was overwhelmed by the reaction on Facebook.

I just wanted to do a little something to make my friend’s day easier and let her know I’m thinking of her.
