IT WAS ONLY Monday, but with the sun splitting the stones in the capital there was one inevitability:
The Barge pub on the Grand canal in Portobello was packed out of it.
No finer spot in the city for some outdoor pints by the water
And there was some crowd out in force

Lining the canal bank in the baking sun
Because it’s rare to get such an evening in Dublin
And, despite it being a Monday, the throngs of people there last night proved the Barge is still the best spot for outdoor pints
Today is set to be hotter again – so we all know what to expect.
