THE BLING RING is one of the most buzzed about films of the year, and last night, its full theatrical trailer was released.
Directed by Sofia Coppola, it stars Emma Watson and tells the tale of a group of fame obsessed LA teenagers who use the internet to track celebrities locations so that they can rob their homes while they’re away.
Sound familiar? That’s because it’s based on real life events. In late 2008 and early 2009 a group of LA teenagers really did rob the homes of Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Orlando Bloom among other celebrities, and eventually the teenagers got caught.
One of them even got a misguided reality show on E! as a result.
