The Irish... sure, we're a great bunch of lads. Niall Carson/PA Wire

The burning question*: Did you enjoy St Patrick’s Day?

It’s the end of the bank holiday, so let TheJournal.ie distract you from the ‘serious’ news with one of life’s REAL dilemmas. (*not really)

WE KNOW HOW you feel. It’s hurtling towards the end of St Patrick’s bank holiday weekend and there isn’t a child in the house washed.

So do like we do here in TheJournal.ie HQ and get stuck into a serious debate on one of life’s most pressing issues.

Possibly.

This week: A simple one, this.

Every year we see/hear/read criticism of St Patrick’s Day, in terms of alcohol-fuelled bad behaviour. But is it all bad? What about the family festival fun and pride in being Irish?

Putting aside the fact that it gives us a bank holiday – and hey, who hates an extra day’s holiday – did you actually enjoy St Patrick’s Day this year?

Poll Results:

B - No, I didn't (1357)
D - I stayed well away from anything to do with it (1228)
C - It was alright (728)
A - Yes, I did (571)
