EVERY WEEKDAY MORNING, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the best of the day’s celebrity dirt from the top to the very bottom.
A teenager James Corden interviewed Meatloaf, and it’s as 90s as it gets
From Gavin & Stacey to The Late Late Show, it seems like James Corden’s career trajectory has been pretty rapid.
But it turns out the Peter Rabbit star has been toiling away in the entertainment industry for, oh, decades now.
While appearing on Nick Grimshaw’s Breakfast Show yesterday, James revealed he interviewed Meatloaf at the age of 14, and he literally cannot bear to watch the footage.
I won a competition to be on Good Morning with Anne and Nick and I interviewed Meat Loaf and I fear should that interview ever resurface it would be the most embarrassing thing I could find! I think I was about 14.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at a young James channelling his inner Parky.
Can’t get enough of that 90s plaid.
Twitter thinks Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were ripping it out of Liam Payne
Yesterday, Liam Payne performed at a Commonwealth Day event at Westminister Abbey.
Giving an accoustic rendition of a John Mayer song, the signer was met with a fairly muted reception by those present throughout.
But with members of the Royal Family in attendance, viewers were obviously keen to see how Liam’s performance went down with Prince Harry and his soon-to-be wife, Meghan Markle.
And it wasn’t great.

A brief but telling eyebrow raise from Prince Harry followed by muffled laughter on Meghan’s part isn’t exactly what Liam would have been going for.
X Factor’s Matt Cardle says he nearly died of drug addiction
In 2010, Simon Cowell would have assured Matt Cardle he had the world at this feet.
However, despite beating Rebecca Ferguson and One Direction to first place on The X Factor, Matt was dropped by Sony in 2012 – a career low which led him into alcohol and drug addiction.
I was still coming down hard from a place where I didn’t have a label, I didn’t really have any management at the time, I didn’t have a steady place. And none of it was bitterness, but it’s just frustration about my fall from grace.
Speaking to The Sun, the singer said his reliance on prescription medication and alcohol regularly put his life in danger.
If you were on your own and you’re completely smashed and you’ve taken one or two too many, you won’t wake up, it’ll stop your heart and that’s it. So it was getting to that point for me without knowing it.
Matt said he checked himself into The Priory in 2014 in an effort to treat his addictions.
