Nicki Minaj is donating $25,000 to Geoffrey Owens because he’s a ‘legend’

Former Cosby Show star, Geoffrey Owens, made headlines in recent weeks after an image of him working as a cashier at Trader Joe’s appeared online.

The 57-year-old actor, who played the role of Elvin Tibideaux for seven years on the NBC sitcom, was subsequently the subject of a job-shaming article – something which the actor discussed while appearing on Good Morning America.

And while he insists he doesn’t want or need anyone’s pity, that hasn’t stopped Nicki Minaj from announcing that she will be donating $25,000 to him.

Speaking on Queen Radio, the rapper expressed her anger over the way the actor was treated.

They took a picture of Geoffrey Owens and put this motherf*ckin’ man on the motherf*ckin’ internet while he was f*ckin’ baggin’ up some f*ckin’ groceries to feed his motherf*ckin’ family.

And Nicki wasn’t having it.

I personally want to donate on behalf of Queen Radio $25,000 to Geoffrey Owens today. You know why? Let me tell you something. This man is a whole f*ckin’ legend in these streets.

Meghan Markle’s mam has been taking baby-care classes

As it’s been almost four months since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot, it was inevitable an unofficial Royal Baby countdown would begin with gusto.

And while some have been speculating over Meghan’s recent outfit choices and whether they might have been chosen to accommodate a burgeoning baby bump, others are buzzing over reports that her mother has been taking baby care classes in California.

Doria Ragland, who is set to move to the UK in the coming months, has been getting classes in LA -  an activity which adds credence to reports that Meghan wants her mother to move in with her if she was to become pregnant. 

A source speaking to The Daily Star Sunday said:

Two of the teachers, Brandi and Hannah, are training Doria at her home half an hour away to avoid attracting unwanted attention. Meghan wants to avoid hiring staff if possible once her first child arrives.

They added:

The thought of having her mum move in with them and take on the role of baby nurse is the best possible solution to that. Even more so because it’s something Doria has always wanted to do anyway.

Jamie Oliver chased down a hapless burglar outside his London home

Jamie Oliver’s neighbours are hailing him a hero after he foiled a burglary attempt outside his London home last week.

According to reports, the celebrity chef chased the assailant down the street before pinning him to the ground near his Highgate home.

Speaking to The Mirror, one of Jamie’s neighbours sang his praises.

It was just a brave, selfless thing to do. Despite the clearly very hairy situation, Jamie was laughing and joking with the coppers saying they’d done a great job to arrive so quickly after the 999 call. Everyone is really thankful for his quick thinking and courage.

A representative for Scotland Yard confirmed the event.

At 7.13pm on Tuesday, September 4, police were called to reports of an aggressive male attempting to gain entry to residential addresses in N6. The male was apprehended by members of the public and was ­subsequently detained by police.
