EVERY WEEKDAY MORNING, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the best of the day’s celebrity dirt from the top to the very bottom.
Cardi B’s former teacher has come for the rapper’s critics
For anyone who might not knows the ins and outs of Cardi B’s time in school, the rapper was a gifted history student with a keen interest in US politics, who chose to pursue a career in teaching before ultimately stepping into the limelight.
As such, it’s no surprise that Cardi’s former teacher, Joan Hill, has no time for critics who have so readily dismissed Cardi’s recent comments on the current political climate in the US on account of the fact she’s ‘just’ a rapper.
In a recent Facebook post, Ms Hill reminded the public that Cardi is equally as qualified to comment as any other member of the public.

For those of you on my feed who are trashing Cardi B for representing a political voice. a) she probably scored higher than you on the US History regents exams and was in my AP govt class. b) you’re not nearly as busy as her, and what have you done to advance political discourse in this country?
“She has a national platform and is using it to speak about things that are important… why can’t we respect that? d) STFU and take a seat,” she finished.
Ms Hill, who teaches at the Renaissance High School for Musical Theater and the Arts in the Bronx, has now amassed thousands of new fans among Cardi supporters. Obvs, like.
Bebe Rexha slammed Demi Lovato’s critics for using her struggles with addiction against her
On Sunday, Demi Lovato deleted her Twitter account after facing backlash for saying she thought the memes which were circulating about 21 Savage were pretty funny. The memes made reference to the fact the rapper was born in the UK, after it was announced that he may face deportation.
Demi made it clear that she wasn’t laughing at the rapper’s actual situation, but the spin social media users put on the issue.
Naturally, this defense wasn’t enough for many of the rapper’s fans, and Demi found herself on the receiving end of trolling, much of which focussed on her struggles with addiction.
And Bebe Rexha isn’t having it.
In a tweet which has been liked over 65,000 times, Bebe defended the Confident singer.
To all the people who who talked shit to Demi you’re FUCKIN DISGUSTING. Attacking someone that is 6 months sober about her personal issues with drugs and mental health over a tweet is LOW.

To all the people who who talked shit to Demi you’re F*CKIN DISGUSTING. Attacking someone that is 6 months sober about her personal issues with drugs and mental health over a tweet is LOW.
She later added: “Wanna talk s**t tweet me. Motherf**kers.”
Loud and clear.
And on that topic… an immigration lawyer has said 21 Savage’s case is a ‘very good one’ for the administration
The rapper, whose real name is Sha Yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, doesn’t conjure sympathy, at least according to New York-based attorney, Anastasia Tonello.
Commenting on the case which saw the 26-year-old rapper arrested as part of a targeted operation in Atlanta at the weekend, she said: “He is obviously not a poster child to stay.”
Making reference to the fact he has a criminal record, she continued: “It’s probably a very good case for the administration.”
Even if they did not do it in an overt way, he is not sympathetic. The story may change but the fact is he has been convicted of something, he did not finish high school – he does not exude sympathy.
According to The Independent, Ms Tonello asserted that the rapper could be subject to a ten-year ban to the US.
