Politicians in Australia could ban R Kelly from entering the country... it's The Dredge
EVERY WEEKDAY MORNING, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the best of the day’s celebrity dirt from the top to the very bottom.
R Kelly may not be welcome in Australia…
Earlier this week, R Kelly announced that he would be embarking on a tour of Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka.
The performer, who was the subject of a recent documentary which examined the numerous allegations of sexual misconduct which have been levelled at him over the course of his career, shared the update on his social media platforms.
Unsurprisingly, the news was met with huge backlash, and politicians in Australia have since called for a ban, which would prevent the 52-year-old from entering the country.
“Labor strongly supports the refusal or cancellation of visas of non-citizens on character or criminal grounds,” a statement read.
While the Department of Home Affairs in Australia refuses to comment on individual cases, they have in the past barred high-profile individuals, including Chris Brown and Floyd Mayweather.
Kelly has since deleted posts pertaining to the proposed tour. (bbc.com)

Confirming the reports regarding his nomination, Bafta released a statement:
“Bafta considers the alleged behaviour completely unacceptable and incompatible with its values. This has led to Mr Singer’s suspended nomination,” the statement continued.
Bafta concluded by saying they would be making no further comment at this time.

A GoFundMePage has been set up for former Scrubs actor Sam Lloyd
Scrubs creator, Bill Lawrence, has urged fans and followers to support Sam Lloyd, who played the sitcom’s eternally nervous lawyer, Ted Buckland, following a cancer diagnosis.
Sam, who welcomed his first child in recent weeks, was recently informed he has a brain tumour after he dismissed symptoms, including weight loss, headaches and lack of sleep, as part and parcel of becoming a new parent.
The GoFundMe page, which was established by Scrubs executive producer, Tim Hobert, outlined recent events in Sam’s life.
Tim then explained that during this time, Sam was feeling unwell.
After seeking advice on the various symptoms he was exhibiting, Sam was then dealt a devastating blow.
“By Sunday, Sam and Vanessa were informed that the cancer in his brain had metastasized from his lungs. Further scans showed the cancer was also in his liver, spine, and jaw,” Tim wrote.
The page, which was established to help Sam meet medical expenses, has a €100,000 target, and has so far raised €71,000.
And in the rest of the day’s dirt
