LAST NIGHT, RTÉ blessed us with a bit of a left field surprise pick for the midweek movie:
The Field.
As it’s a nostalgic classic for Irish people it was welcomed with open arms
It’s just full of killer lines
Which form part of the reason why everyone loved watching it as a kid
Full of things your dad might actually say
The scene where Bull and the lads burst into the pub was seriously intense – and it brought everyone back
“Go home Yank” has entered our national quote bank
And the performances from Richard Harris et al were just class
You can’t be forgetting the sangwiches scene either
The Field has rightly gone down as one of Ireland’s favourites
