A troll complained about a drag queen appearing on The Chase and the Governess wasn't having any of it

IF YOU’RE A fan of TV quizzes then there’s no doubt that you’re probably a fan of ITV’s ‘The Chase’. A key person in that show is of course The Governess Anne Hegerty, a woman with more knowledge about nearly anything than Wikipedia.
ITV ITV
She’s also become a bit of a hero on Twitter in the last day or so. One viewer of the show seemed a bit put out that The Chase had the audacity to have a drag queen Daniel as one of the contestants.
Well that’s what people have assumed anyway given that the commenter talked about the Chase being a ‘family show’. Even Marty’s shirt choice while out there, couldn’t be deemed as offensive.
Anyway, the Governess herself wasn’t having any of these views and took to Twitter to defend the show in the best way possible.
Anyone who watches the show knows that Anne is known for being quite straight laced and proper.
Her comeback to the complainer’s retort was quite good too.
The little interaction seems to have had a big impact in the Twitterverse with people delighted that Anne herself stepped up.
Fellow Chasers Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett and Paul ‘Sinnerman’ Sinha also came to Daniel’s defence pointing out that the Chase has always been inclusive and also the fact that you know, it’s 2018.
Drag queens are not offensive and if you’re offended by their presence on a ‘family show’ then the problem is with you and not them. Fair play to all the Chasers for defending Daniel but it’s a shame they had to in the first place.
