THE NERVES.

They may not have lost, but after two own goals in the first half, people have begun to believe the infamous ‘curse’ on the county team.

As the curse goes, in 1951 the All Ireland winning Mayo team passed a funeral in Foxford without paying respects, causing the priest to put a curse on them. As long as any of that winning team were alive, they wouldn’t lift Sam.

They haven’t won since, but we all know there’s no such thing as a curse. Don’t we?

7. Now we’re not ones to be superstitious but…

8. The most hardened of cynics can’t deny it
