THE DAILY MAIL called it “Great Britain’s latest televised suicide note to itself“, while The Mirror said “TV doesn’t get much lower than this“.

The Valleys erupted into a Twitter storm of “THIS IS THE WORST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN (pass the remote so I can press ‘series record’” when it first aired last week.

The show has plucked a group of wannabees from the Welsh valleys and placed them in a house in Cardiff with loads of booze and very little dignity.

The first episode saw a group shower scene, which included one girl (Nicole) getting caught short and doing her small toilet on one of her housemates:

Welsh singer Charlotte Church has described The Valleys as “exploitative” and tweeted:

Politicians have also turned on the MTV show with Mayor of Merthyr Tydfil Lisa Mytton describing The Valleys as “completely rubbish” and said that it was “disgusting” the way the ‘stars’ of the programme talked about where they come from.

The Valleys airs on MTV on Tuesday at 10pm. It is not for the faint hearted.
