The Vatican's Baby Jesus is rather big

After a spate of Baby Jesus statue robberies in the US (and Ireland), the Pope is clearly taking no chances.

IN A WEEK where an Waterford parish had to appeal for the return of a stolen Baby Jesus statue – and there was a spate of robberies of Baby Jesus figurines in the US, it is interesting to note that the Vatican is taking no chances with its Baby Jesus representation.

There is no way anyone is going to lift this statue out of St Peter’s Square without anyone noticing. (To understand exactly how big this Baby Jesus is, note that Pope Benedict XVI is the tiny figure at the open window in the background delivering his Angelus prayer):
