The Young Offenders Christmas Special landed last night, but how did the nation take to it?
THE YOUNG OFFENDERS was easily one of the most talked-about shows of 2018.
After the success of the 2016 film, the public were given the chance to follow Conor and Jock’s exploits across a televised series earlier this year, and at this stage, we all know it went down an absolute storm.
So, it was hardly surprising that viewers the length and breadth of Ireland were buzzing to hear that a Christmas special would air on RTÉ on December 25 – an announcement made all the more exciting after it was confirmed Robert Sheehan would appear as himself.
But look, Robert Sheehan or no Robert Sheehan, Christmas specials are dicey territory.
We mean, you could absolutely nail it a lá The UK Office or you can start losing the run of yourself a lá The Royle Family. Don’t @ us.
But where did The Young Offenders fall in this instance?
Well, it really is a bit of a mixed bag on Twitter right now.
Right, there’s clearly nothing else for it; go watch it for yourselves, and report back.
