Mariah Carey says The Grammys don’t choose the artists selling the most records

Over the course of her career, Mariah Carey has earned herself five Grammy Awards – not too shabby, right?

However, it seems the shine was taken off the accolades after the singer realised that in order to be considered, she needed to jump through hoops for industry insiders.

Speaking to V Magazine, Mariah said she was no longer about that life, quipping: “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.”

In the music business, if you care about the Grammys and submitting your stuff before a certain time frame, you want a single out in the summer. Then you want to have a record out before the Grammys consideration deadline, which has changed.

Pouring scorn on the approach the industry seemingly has, the singer added: “I won two Grammys the first year I started, but after that, the Grammys are like, ‘We don’t go with the people that are selling a lot of records and are popular; we’re gonna go the opposite way.’”

Kim Kardashian has released new Kimojis for International Women’s Day, and people aren’t having it

Back in 2016, Kim Kardashian refused to label herself a feminist.

Speaking at a conference, the reality star said that while she ‘loves to support other women’, she’s not the ‘free the nipple’ type girl.

I don’t think that I am. I don’t like labels. I do what makes me happy and I want women to be confident.

With those remarks still in the forefront of many people’s minds, Kim has come in for considerable backlash today after releasing a new set of Kimojis in honour of International Women’s Day.

“I thought you were against feminism for the longest time,” wrote one Twitter user.

“Money, money, money, and me, me, me are what you’re about. You could care less about the struggles women and girls deal with everyday. You’re too high on your pedestal. All you want is more money and attention,” countered another.

Well, that went well.

So, for those of you who don’t know, Charlize Theron and David Oyelowo starred opposite each other in Gringo.

And it turns out the South-African star’s penchant for dropping the F-bomb on set left David a little stunned.

Speaking to E! at the film’s premiere this week, David confirmed: “She’s pretty foul-mouthed. That’s something from day one, I was like ‘Wow!’

Especially because she’s so debonair and elegant, and then she has the mouth of the sailor. But I love her for the fact that she’s always 100 percent herself. She’s one of the bravest people I know.
