Did you know there was an Irish version of There's Something About Mary?

It exists, and it’s a wonder.

IN 2008, TEN years after the film There’s Something About Mary, a new version arrived on the scene.

A new, very Irish version.  This one does not involve any grossout comedy however, and is instead a thorough examination of Ireland’s best known Marys.

Seriously, we’re not making this up.  Look:

The book was written by former MEP, Mary Banotti, who is referred to as 'gallant loser of the year' on the back cover.  Of her own book.  Ouch.

Mary asks the women questions such as:

Would there have been any other protestant Marys in your childhood?
Were there many Marys in your school?
Has the name Mary ever been an issue for you with family or at school?
Why were you called Mary?

It truly is an in depth look at Irish Marys.  The book is currently out of stock on Eason.com, but there are two copies left on Amazon.

May all your Mary dreams come true.
