Tipperary man Sam Pearson has been travelling the world for the past few months – his last stop before returning to Ireland was Bratislava, Slovakia.
He matched with a local lad on Tinder and they got chatting. Sadly, as it was Sam’s last day in the city and Tomás was stuck in work, it didn’t look like they were going to be able to meet.
Instead, Tomás offered Sam a guided tour of Bratislava via Whatsapp, sending on his favourite places on Google Maps. First he directed him to a vegan ice cream parlour:
Then to his favourite bar, where he had arranged for the bartender to give Sam a cocktail on him:

What a day! But it didn’t end there.
Sam told DailyEdge.ie that Tomás ended up getting off work early, and surprised him at his hostel.
I had no idea if he was going to come and find me or if he’d be able to get off work, but he knew where my hostel was. I was drinking in the closed bar at the back of the hostel… and he managed to somehow find his way there without asking me where to go.
The pair got on like a house on fire – Sam had to return home the next day, but says they will keep chatting and “definitely” meet each other again in the future. Ahh. The ROMANCE.
