A Tipperary couple are in the Stella Artois Christmas ad being wonderfully Irish
FOR STELLA ARTOIS’ festive ad campaign, the beer brand selected several people and helped them give a loved one a Christmas present.
One of the ads features Brendan and Maeve, a couple from Tipperary. Maeve moved to London two years ago – and Brendan moved to be with her – but she was forced to leave her beloved piano behind.
“We met in a small pub in Galway,” Brendan says in the ad. “She was playing the piano and singing at the top of her lungs. We eyed each other up.”
So he gives Maeve a piano for Christmas. Her response is wonderfully sceptical.
When she first sees the piano, her first reaction is basically ‘uh, are you trying to make a fool out of me’?
And then when Brendan explains, she goes for the reaction of every Irish person ever when given an impressive gift:
It’s a rather nice story.
