Woman left mortified when 'escaped crocodile' in her garden turns out to be inflatable toy

A snappy resolve.

A WOMAN IN England was left pretty red-faced after reporting an escaped crocodile that turned out to be of the inflatable variety.

The mother from Plymouth called the police in a panic after spotting the escaped 3ft long animal in her garden, who in turn alerted local zoo officials.

Devon and Cornwall police quickly tweeted to assure everyone that the situation was under control.

But, there was only panic for about three minutes, before this tweet arrived.

Doh.

Dartmoor Zoo responded along with officers armed with snare poles and riot shields. According to the BBC, officers realised the reptile was harmless when they threw water over the croc and it failed to respond.

The woman said she’s understandably ‘mortified’ and has yet to discover how the toy came to be in her garden.
