19 of the very best moments from the Late Late Toy Show
WELL, THAT’S THAT over for another year.
Let’s recap on some of the most wonderful moments.
1. That opening number
Dancing monkeys, giant elephants, Tubs in a massive-arsed bear costume. Colour us impressed.
Shoutout to the students of IADT Dun Laoghaire who made the great costumes.
2. Beibhinn and her diabetes doll
Beibhinn has diabetes herself so the doll is a welcome addition to her toy collection.
Beibhinn also had little time for Ryan’s carry on.
3. Alex from Bundoran
Little Alex from Bundoran melted everyone’s hearts with his fairy doors and his ‘worry board’ that appears to vanishes away nasty things like nightmares and baddies.
Whoops!
We couldn't find this Tweet
4. The Lost Boys performance
WE WEREN’T CRYING, YOU WERE CRYING.
6. The Ballyfermot pals
Sarah and Lexie have been friends for seven years (since they were born, ACTUALLY, Ryan) and they were on the Toy Show to show off the small doll selection.
They school Ryan on where’s good to go on dates (Nandos and Eddie Rockets) and were just gorgeous. Friends for life.
7. When Tubs was sorted into Hufflepuff
Stinger.
8. When Edie made Ryan smell her blankie
“SMELL IT”
9. Aaron’s amazing pipes
Man alive could this boy hold a tune.
10. The audience going hell for leather at the free mince pies
11. Darragh and his pet lamb
This absolute dote from Co Down schooled Ryan on the workings of a farm and told us about all the meat you can get from cows.
But then he told us about his pet lamb Tara, who was… sent to the factory. Oh.
All was quickly forgotten though as he broke into the most adorable version of Hit The Diff known to man, which quickly became an absolutely sterling country music medley.
13. This man
14. Or indeed that woman
15. Katherine’s little face when Ryan told her she’d received a letter from Michael D
Ultimate goal: Receive a letter from Michael D.
16. When Evan met Jamie
Not only did nine-year-old Galway boy Evan Hoban get to meet his hero Jamie Heaslip, he also got a very special souvenir… Heaslip’s own jersey from the game against Australia.
17. When Charlie met Rory
Another very special moment when Rory McIlroy’s biggest fan got the shock of his life.
18. The Benhaffaf twins
Cork twins Hassan and Hussein Benhaffaf celebrated their seventh birthday with a spot in the ‘wheelies’ segment of the show. Absolutely flying they were.
19. This little lad dancing
Giving it all he had.
