Avoid if: You’re sensitive about sexism, would prefer to see Vanessa Hudgens in a Disney film

Any excuse to get some young ladies in their bikinis, eh? This Harmony Korine movie was never going to be a Disney flick, even if it stars a former Disney actress, but we’re not sure it tells us anything besides how attractive these four young women look in a bikini (and how bad James Franco looks in cornrows).

Avoid if: You don’t like crying in the cinema

Four members of a world-renowned New York string quartet (who just happen to include Philip Seymour Hoffman, Catherine Keener and Christopher Walken) face death, egos and passion. Just your average day making music, eh. With a stellar cast, this may not be a date movie, but it will certainly make you think about life. Sigh.

Suspend disbelief for 90 minutes by watching this feelgood movie about a couple who really want a child – but can’t have one. So when a boy appears in their home, they take him in as their own.  Awww.
