WHICH NEW MOVIE release is worth the price of a cinema ticket this weekend? We’re here to help you decide just that, with these trailers.
Spring Breakers
(ConstipatedOwl/YouTube)
For fans of: Edgy movies, exploitation, spring break antics
Avoid if: You’re sensitive about sexism, would prefer to see Vanessa Hudgens in a Disney film
Any excuse to get some young ladies in their bikinis, eh? This Harmony Korine movie was never going to be a Disney flick, even if it stars a former Disney actress, but we’re not sure it tells us anything besides how attractive these four young women look in a bikini (and how bad James Franco looks in cornrows).

A Late Quartet
(FilmsActuTrailers/YouTUbe)
For fans of: Philip Seymour Hoffman, Christopher Walken, quartets
Avoid if: You don’t like crying in the cinema
Four members of a world-renowned New York string quartet (who just happen to include Philip Seymour Hoffman, Catherine Keener and Christopher Walken) face death, egos and passion. Just your average day making music, eh. With a stellar cast, this may not be a date movie, but it will certainly make you think about life. Sigh.
- RottenTomatoes.com critics rating: 77 per cent. Audience rating: 70 per cent.
The Odd Life of Timothy Green
(DisneyMovieTrailers/YouTube)
For fans of: Lovely Jennifer Garner
Avoid if: You’re not into inspiring, feel good movies, you weirdo
Suspend disbelief for 90 minutes by watching this feelgood movie about a couple who really want a child – but can’t have one. So when a boy appears in their home, they take him in as their own. Awww.
- RottenTomatoes.com critics rating: 38 per cent. Audience rating: 70 per cent
Oblivion
(movieclipstrailers/YouTube)
For fans of: CRUISE, Tom Cruise
Avoid if: You’re into tall men
*cue Oprah voice*: It’s Tom CRUISE and he’s BACK with another HIGH OCTANE movie that will make you WONDERRRRR about life itself. It’s SCI FI! It’s ACTION! It’s another Tom Cruise movie. It’s OBLIVIONNNNN.
