WE CAN’T TAKE much more of these mind melters. We’re still not over the dress for God’s sake.

Take a quick look at this Vine.

Is the man saying bar or far? Well, that depends on what side you’re looking at.

Whoa.

How is this possible? It’s all about the mouth, of course. On the left side, the man is making a bilabial sound lip-to-lip, whereas on the right he’s making a fricative found using lip-to-teeth.

Basically, our brains are being tricked into hearing what we’re seeing.

So what’s he actually saying? One Redditor guessed it’s middle ground between the two, something like ‘var’.
