What to watch on TV tonight: Friday
DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.
The Graham Norton Show (BBC One, 10.45pm)
Cher and Christine Baranski discuss starring together in movie sequel Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. Rupert Everett talks about his new film about Oscar Wilde, The Happy Prince, and Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer chats about her BBC drama, Picnic at Hanging Rock. Tom Odell performs his new single If You Wanna Love Somebody. The host also takes a wry look at the week’s events and invites some more audience members to recount an anecdote from the red chair – hoping to avoid the ignominy of rejection.
The Crystal Maze (Channel 4, 9.00pm)
Richard Ayoade hosts this reboot of the popular 1990s game show, guiding five contestants through the Aztec, Medieval, Industrial and Future zones, where they play a range of skill, mystery, physical and mental challenges to win the all-important crystals. Judy Murray captains the team, guiding Paralympic legend David Weir, former footballer Wayne Bridge, Countdown’s Rachel Riley and TV personality Charlotte Crosby, hoping to ace their way to the maximum time possible inside the Crystal Dome. Will Judy coach her team to victory, or will the Maze have Rachel’s number?
Bad Teacher (E4, 9.00pm)
Cynical, hard-drinking teacher Elizabeth Halsey hates her job and the kids in her class, and hopes to escape her daily grind by landing a rich husband. A wealthy substitute seems like a suitable candidate, but she has a rival for his attention in a squeaky-clean colleague. Comedy, starring Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake, Jason Segel and Lucy Punch.
Everyone’s talking about: Carpool Karaoke
Paul McCartney joined James Corden for this week’s edition of gridlocked sing-a-long.
The pair drove around Liverpool, gatecrashed a pub and did a tour of The Beatles’ star’s childhood home. James has called it “the best Carpool Karaoke we’ve done so far”.
