What to watch on TV tonight: Tuesday

The top TV picks for tonight.

DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Reeling in the Years (RTÉ One, 6.30pm)

Take a trip down memory lane with everyone’s favourite offering from RTÉ. This episode takes us through the highs and lows of 1964, with focus on Irish Rugby Union victories, Muhammad Ali’s new-found heavyweight title and the war in Vietnam. And naturally, there’ll be some stand-out tunes.

DIY SOS: The Big Build (TV3, 8pm)

Nick Knowles, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and dozens of volunteers put their skills to use by redesigning the home of a woman who suffers from a rare genetic disorder called mastocytosis. By transforming her current home, the team will give Chloe a sense of independence she hasn’t enjoyed since her diagnosis at the age of 18.

Travels in Trumpland with Ed Balls (BBC Two, 11.15pm)

The second episode in a compelling series, Ed Balls talks gun control, murder rates and school shootings in the US. The documentary investigates the challenges faced by the police force, shines a light on the hopes of Trump supporters and addresses the repercussions born of the Parkland shooting in Florida.

Everyone’s talking about…The Blind Side

blind side

Last night, TV3 aired The Blind Side.

And the movie which earned Sandra Bullock an Oscar, Golden Globe and Screen Actor’s Guild Award was the talk of Twitter both during and after the broadcast.

We had first-time viewers and returning devotees, but above anything else, we had many, many tears.

Or flick over for…

  • Eraser (TV3, 9pm) It’s a thriller starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, guys.
  • Getaways (RTÉ One, 7pm) Travel the world from the comfort of your own couch.
  • Gogglebox (E4, 11.55pm) There’s little more comforting than an episode of this gem, to be fair.
  • Grand Designs (More 4, 7.55pm) Kevin McCloud doing his thing, as per usual.
