What to watch on TV tonight: Wednesday
DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.
World’s Weirdest Homes (Channel 4, 9.00pm)
Charlie Luxton explores jaw-dropping homes and unusual residences, and examines why the people who live in them choose to escape the everyday world. Throughout the programme, Charlie meets a group of scientists pretending they live on Mars, a billionaire YouTube celebrity with his own zoo, and a Bible-obsessed Dutch entrepreneur.
Tabú (TG4, 9.30pm)
Tonight’s episode is called ‘An Taobhlíne’ and looks at the growing problem of GAA injuries and the possible long-term impact on players physical and mental wellbeing. One young hurler is just 17 years old and over the course of filming received his second hip operation in the hope that he can return to the hurling pitch. Another 18 year old dual player decided to forego surgery to attend rehab for his persistent hip and groin problem. Two sisters, both former formidable Dublin footballers, find themselves sidelined within 2 months of each other and can only watch from the sidelines as their team reach the Championship final.
North Korea: Life Inside the Secret State (Channel 4, 10.00pm)
North Korean citizens reveal what it is like to live in the world’s most secretive country. The documentary features conversations with defectors, who are still in regular phone contact with former colleagues and family who still live in North Korea, illustrating what life is like for the 24 million people living under communist rule, where every aspect of their life is controlled by the state.
