What to watch on TV tonight: Saturday
DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.
Eurovision Song Contest 2018 (RTÉ One, 8.00pm)
Marty Whelan returns to the commentary box as the annual music extravaganza’s grand finale takes place. Hosted this year by Portgual, and taking place at the Altice Arena in Lisbon, this evening’s festivities will mark the culmination of the 63rd edition of the contest. Ireland’s entrant, singer Ryan O’Shaughnessy had his odds of winning slashed yesterday, so keep your fingers and crossed for him.
Forrest Gump (Sky One, 9.00pm)
A slow-witted man has a series of bizarre adventures, including becoming an American football star, Vietnam veteran, table tennis champion and millionaire businessman – but the love of his life from childhood continues to elude him. Robert Zemeckis’s Oscar-winning comedy drama, starring Tom Hanks, Sally Field, Robin Wright and Gary Sinise.
Niall Horan with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra (RTÉ One, 6.55pm)
The One Direction star performs a selection of songs from his debut solo album Flicker, joined by 45 members of the RTÉ Concert Orchestra conducted by Gavin Murphy. He’ll also be talking about life post-One Direction.
Everyone’s talking about: Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? (again)
The UK reboot of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire has Jeremy Clarkson hosting. The Grand Tour host was so confident a contestant got a question right, he told him he’d won £32,000 before official confirmation. He was wrong and the contestant walked away with just £1,000 instead.
Awkward.
