What to watch on TV tonight: Tuesday
DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.
No Country For Women (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)
This important two-part documentary looks at the lives of Irish women since getting the vote 100 years ago. Despite the promise of equality made following independence, women have continued to be relegated to secondary roles within all aspects of Irish life, enduring unbelievable discrimination and denied basic rights. For the past century, government, church and the law have interfered in women’s lives, deciding their futures – No Country For Women details the continued injustices visited upon women everywhere. (P.S. when are we repealing the bit in the constitution about women in the home? Over it.)
A Year to Fall in Love (Channel 4, 10.00pm)
With the explosion of dating apps, the way people find love has changed forever. In a world where image appears to be everything, 20 singletons across the UK have given themselves up to a year to find romance – filming every raw moment of their dating lives as they go. Cameras reveal which of them, if any, find love. I mean, what’s another year when you’ve already been alive for 22, eh?!
Daniel & Majella’s B&B Road Trip (RTÉ One, 8.30pm)
Singer Daniel O’Donnell and his wife Majella are in for a surprise at their final B&B, as they stay at Burren Glamping in Kilfenora, Co Clare. They try to get on with their new neighbours Betsy and Bianca, a pair of saddleback pigs, and celebrate their last night on the road at the home of Ceili music, taking time to reminisce on an incredible adventure. Last in the series.
Everyone’s talking about: Will Ferrell
The comedian looks set to star in a Netflix feature film based around long-running international television music competition Eurovision, called ‘Eurovision’. Makes sense, in fairness.
He was spotted by fans enjoying this year’s contest in May.
No word on when it’s coming out yet, but we’ll let you know. (Deadline)
