After the Headlines – Charlie Bird (RTÉ One, 9.35)

Back in 1981, Charlie Bird reported from the scene of the Stardust fire in Artane. 37 years later, he returns to meet with the survivors of the fire and the families of those who lost their lives in the early hours of Valentine’s Day 1981.

Couples Retreat (RTÉ 2, 10pm)

Comedy starring Vince Vaughn, Malin Akerman, Jon Favreau and Jason Bateman. A struggling couple ask their friends to join them on a therapy weekend when they find out it will save them money.

Diana: The Last 100 Days (TV3, 9pm)

If you never tire of programmes which focus on the life and times of the British Royal Family, then this one is for you. The first episode in a two-part documentary series which reflects on the final days of Princess Diana’s life, and the relationships she shared with those around her.

Everyone’s talking about…the American version of Love Island

CBS have secured the US rights to the hit UK reality TV show – Love Island.

Commenting on the news, Sharon Vuong, Senior Vice President of Alternative Programming for the Network, insisted the show is more than just a ‘pop sensation’.

This series has generated compelling ‘sociological think pieces’ in major publications here and abroad.

And she’s fairly certain that American audiences will eat it up.

Having seen the reaction of audiences ‘across the pond’ and around the world to this most recent season, we expect American viewers will be captivated by this engaging format.
