Eva Longoria and Graham Norton on The Late Late Show (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)

American Gangster (UTV, 10.40pm)

Denzel Washington plays Frank Lucas, a drug lord with a heart of gold, in this critically acclaimed crime thriller from director Ridley Scott. Russell Crowe stars as the honest NYPD officer trying to bring him down.

Gogglebox (Channel 4, 9pm)

What would Friday nights be now without Gogglebox? The gang is back to dissect our favourite TV shows. The ultimate in comfort television. #gogglebox

Everyone’s talking about… #Downton

ITV has confirmed that the period drama will return for a sixth season, with production to begin next year. The fifth season ends this Sunday and fans are promised a dramatic climax, with Mr Bates and Anna finding themselves in jail.

As always, the wait for the next season will be punctuated by the annual Downton special, to air at Christmas. Thank god for that.
