Jim Carrey is on Graham Norton tonight.

What to watch on TV tonight: Friday

Here are the shows that’ll be on your Twitter timeline later.

Every lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

A bumper line-up on The Late Late Show (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)

Tonight is a big night for our Ryan. Not only does he have Domhnall and Brian Gleeson on the sofa but there is music from Spandau Ballet AND Imelda May AND Damien Rice. It’s going to be a good one for awkward audience clapalongs, that’s for sure. #latelateshow

The Graham Norton Show (BBC One, 11.05pm)

Jim Carrey is on talking about Dumb and Dumber To, and he’s improbably joined by Jude Law and Tamsin Greig. Meanwhile Nicole Scherzinger does a bit of music. Fingers crossed they all get drunk like usual. #grahamnorton

Gogglebox (Channel 4, 9pm)

Including commentary on Home Alone 2! Plus the X Factor semi final, the Royal Variety Performance with Ed Sheeran, and Jamie Oliver getting his Christmas recipes on. Basically it’s shaping up to be a cracker, and we’re not even apologising for that pun. #gogglebox

Everybody’s talking about: Broadchurch

ITV / YouTube

ITV’s claustrophobic small-town crime drama, centred around the death of an 11-year-old boy, won rave reviews when it was broadcast last year. And now season two is upon us. The official trailer emerged yesterday, with David Tennant and Olivia Colman returning as detectives Alec Hardy and Ellie Miller. First episode goes out January 5.

Or flick over for…

  • Have I Got News For You? (BBC One, 9pm) Martin Clunes hosts.
  • Mary Berry’s Absolute Christmas Favourites (BBC Two, 8.30pm) The GBBO innuendo-fest gets a spin-off for Christmas.
  • Casino Royale (UTV, 11.40pm) Best of the recent Bond films.
  • American Horror Story: Freak Show (Fox, 10.45pm) Go on, scare yourself. Sure it’s Friday.
  • Steve Coogan: The Man Who Thinks He’s It (Gold, midnight) The comedian doing a standup show in 1998, at the height of his powers.
