What to watch on TV tonight: Friday
EVERY WEEKDAY lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.
The Graham Norton Show (BBC One, 10.35pm)
Our very own Michael Fassbender is on Graham Norton tonight, as part of the promotional trail for Lenny Abrahamson’s new movie Frank. Expect him to be amiably humiliated in some way, and for Twitter to be aflame. Also with Hugh Jackman and James McAvoy. #grahamnorton
Gogglebox (Channel 4, 9pm)
Yet another hour-long edition of the reliably excellent show where people watch TV. Expect only the finest commentary from the family sofas. Nothing says Friday like a bit of Gogglebox, does it? #gogglebox
Withnail and I (Channel 4, 12.30am)
Happy days for anyone staying up late and/or stumbling in from the pub – Withnail and I is on tonight. Two hours of angry excellence from Richard E Grant and Paul McGann as they go on the worst, drunkest holiday of all time. Yes, we know you’ve seen it, so watch it again.
On the chat shows tonight…
Late Late: Adam Clayton, Christy Moore, Frank Connolly, Tom Gilmartin
Graham Norton: Michael Fassbender, Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy
Alan Carr: Frank Skinner, Paloma Faith, Heston Blumenthal
Trending: The Simpsons
The creators of The Simpsons have revealed that a major character will be killed off in the opening episode of the new season, the show’s 26th. Executive producer Al Jean has said that the death will be “bigger than Game of Thrones”, and called it The Yellow Wedding.
So far Sideshow Bob is a favourite to be killed off, alongside Grandpa Simpson and Barney Gumble. But the show doesn’t air until autumn, so we’ll all just have to wait.
