The Late Late Show (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)

Tonight, Ryan meets MMA coach John Kavanagh, who will talk about Conor McGregor’s rise to success. Elsewhere, Thomas Barr will talk about his Olympic journey, Marty Morrissey will discuss the All Ireland hurling final, and All Twvvins will provide the music. #latelate

Joanna Lumley’s Japan (UTV Ireland, 9pm)

In the first of this three-part series, Joanna Lumley travels to Japan, taking in both its history and technological present. Tonight, she explores the Fukushima power plant and the volcanic springs of Hokkaido.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (Film4, 11.10pm)

An all-star cast heads up this adaptation of the John le Carré novel – Gary Oldman plays George Smiley, a retired spy forced to uncover a Soviet mole in MI6. Tom Hardy, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Colin Firth co-star.

Everybody’s talking about: Netflix’s Amanda Knox documentary

Netflix has released the trailer for their documentary about Amanda Knox, who was convicted of the murder of her flatmate Meredith Kercher in Italy in 2007. She served four years for the crime before being exonerated last year.

The doc will contain interviews with Amanda herself, as well as other key figures in the case – it will be available to stream from September 30.
