DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.
Broadchurch (TV3, 10pm)
The third series of the crime drama kicks off tonight, with detectives Miller and Hardy (David Tennant and Olivia Colman) reuniting to investigate a sexual assault. Lenny Henry and Coronation Street’s Julie Hesmondhalgh (AKA Hayley Cropper) make up the supporting cast. #broadchurch
The Nightly Show (3e, 10pm)
This is an intriguing concept – a nightly chat show where, each week, the reins will be handed to a new celebrity host. The first week belongs to David Walliams, John Bishop and Gordon Ramsay set to take over in future. #thenightlyshow
The Oscars (RTÉ2, 9.30pm)
If you haven’t had your fill of the Oscars already, they’re being aired tonight on RTÉ2. See the amazing case of the Wrong Best Picture Envelope for yourself! #Oscars2017
Everybody’s talking about: Top Gear
Matt Le Blanc has revealed he didn’t hear that Chris Evans was leaving the Top Gear reboot until he read about it in the paper. Ah here. He told The Sun:
I haven’t heard from him since – which is his choice. I saw the stories that we weren’t getting along and there was a row between us, but we were fine. I liked Chris Evans. I think my schedule is tough, but he was doing a radio show every morning… Maybe that was what it was. I honestly don’t know.
Or flick over for…
- Game of Clones (E4, 7.30pm) As dating shows go, this is a weird one – people create their ‘perfect match’ on a computer, and then go off to find a lookalike.
- Mary Berry’s Everyday (BBC2, 8.30pm) A brand new cookery series featuring the beloved GBBO host.
- The 2,000,000 Calorie Buffet (Channel 4, 10pm) Examining the growth of all-you-can-eat restaurants on the British high street.
- Girls (Sky Atlantic, 10pm) The final series of the comedy/drama continues.
- Shallow Hal (3e, 10pm) Jack Black and Gwyneth Paltrow star in this comedy about a guy fixated on outer beauty.
