What to watch on TV tonight: Saturday

Here are the shows that will be on your Twitter timeline later.

Every lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Saturday Night with Miriam (RTÉ One, 9.40pm)

Tonight, Sunday Game host Michael Lyster joins Miriam to talk about his recent heart attack and return to form. Glad to have you back, Michael! Tiny Dancer Lily-Mae and her parents and former RTÉ presenter Bibi Baskin will be on the couch.

Pitch Perfect (Channel 4, 9pm)

Pretend the sequel never happened. Just pretend, and watch the highly entertaining first film again. Anna Kendrick stars as the unlikely singer who reinvigorates a college a cappella group. Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson) is the real star of the show, though.

(500) Days Of Summer (RTÉ2, 10.10pm)

Zooey Deschanel made her name as a manic pixie dream girl, but in the role of Summer, she subverts the trope. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the man who must get over her.

Everyone’s talking about: #X Factor

BBC Radio 1's Teen Awards - London Laura Lean Laura Lean

The show hasn’t even aired yet and there’s already a fix row. According to the UK Mirror, people aren’t happy that judge Rita Ora’s backing dancers have “breezed through” to the boot camp round.

Identical twins Polly and Sophie Duniam have toured with the singer and appeared in one of her music videos - but X Factor bosses are stressing that they got through on talent alone.

Or flick over for…

  • Winning Streak (RTÉ One, 8.15pm) The easiest game show in the world continues.
  • The Nation’s Favourite 80s Number One (UTV Ireland, 9pm) Bear in mind that although this is UTV Ireland, the ‘nation’ is the UK. Durr.
  • Shrek (BBC3, 9pm) Shrek is love, Shrek is life. No further explanation needed.
  • Love, Actually (ITV2, 9pm) As today is July 25 (and Christmas is a mere five months away) loads of channels are showing Christmas films. Naturally.
  • The Proposal (BBC1, 11.10pm) Sandra Bullock is the Canadian editor who marries Ryan Reynolds to get her American green card. You would do it too.
