What to watch on TV tonight: Saturday

Here are the shows that will be on your Twitter timeline this evening.

DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

The Ray D’Arcy Show (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)

Ahead of the Oscars next weekend, Best Director nominee Lenny Abrahamson and Room producer Ed Guiney stop by RTÉ for a chat. Reeva Steenkamp’s mother June will also be joining Ray to talk about the tragic death of her daughter and the high-profile trial of Oscar Pistorius. Actor Aidan Quinn, snooker champ Ken Doherty, and writer Emma Hannigan round out the line-up. #raydarcyshow

Garage (RTÉ2, 9.30pm)

Speaking of Lenny Abrahamson, flip over to RTÉ2 to catch his drama about a lonely petrol station attendant slowly coming out of his shell. Pat Shortt shows he has many more strings to his bow.

Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway (UTV Ireland, 7.45pm)

The terrible twosome are back with another series full of zany pranks, celebrity guests, and serious prizes. Michael Sheen (not Martin Sheen) will take over announcer duties tonight, and Wet Wet Wet will perform. #saturdaynighttakeaway

Everybody’s talking about: Top Gear

The new series has started filming, but according to the Daily Mail, presenter Matt LeBlanc had to be rescued from a motorway after Reliant Robin he was driving broke down.

Strangely, former presenter James May’s own Reliant Robin broke down in London just a day before. Tip: Maybe stop driving Reliant Robins?

Or flick over for…

  • Cast Away (BBC2, 7pm) WILSOOOOOOON!
  • The Cube (UTV Ireland, 9pm) Time for your whole family to act like they could complete the Cube’s monstrous tasks, easy-peasy.
  • Panic Room (TV3, 9pm) Jodie Foster and a young Kristen Stewart play a mother and daughter trapped in their house by Bad Men.
  • Robocop (Channel 4, 9pm) This is the 2014 remake now, not the 80s original. :(
  • The Ides of March (BBC2, 11pm) George Clooney and Ryan Gosling star in this political drama.
