What to watch on TV tonight: Sunday

Here are the shows that’ll be on your Twitter timeline later.

EVERY LUNCHTIME, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Love/Hate (RTÉ One, 9.30pm)

Last week’s episode brought us close to *that* simmering showdown between Nidge and Fran, but it was all put on hold by Fran getting himself arrested. Where can the show’s writers take things from here? Surely Nidge can’t let that kind of carry-on go unpunished. Let the Twitterstorm begin. #LoveHate

The X Factor Results (UTV, 8pm)

After last night’s #Muppetgate, all eyes will be on our Chezza’s outfit to see which puppet she most resembles this evening. Also, we’ll get to feast on the weekly emotionfest that is the results show. OBVIOUSLY there will be tears. #xfactor

Storyville: Russia’s Toughest Prison (BBC4, 9pm)

BBC Four’s highly-regarded Storyville documentary slot takes a journey to a maximum-security prison in Russia, which is reserved exclusively for murderers – and currently holds 260 men who have collectively killed nearly 800 people. The inmates – locked up 23 hours a day – reveal their thoughts in frank interviews.

Everyone’s talking about: American Horror Story

The latest season of the FX anthology series – called Freak Show – is being widely hailed as the best yet. And also the most terrifying. It premiered last week, and so far features some very strange carnies and at least one killer clown. Basically, it’s perfect fuel for your Halloween nightmares.

Or flick over for…

  • Downton Abbey (UTV, 9pm) Upstairs Downstairs, but with better clothes.
  • Strictly: The Results (BBC One, 7.20pm) Anyone for a tango?
  • Secret History: Hitler’s Hidden Drug Habit (Channel 4, 8pm) Hitler, apparently, was addicted to a cocktail of prescription drugs. Here’s the full story.
  • Brave New World (BBC2, 10pm) New show exploring the links between Ulster and New Zealand.
  • Back To The Future Part 2 (ITV2, 6.50pm) The one where he actually goes to the future.
