"The secret life of students" Veryhilarious

What to watch on TV tonight: Thursday

Here are the shows that’ll be on your Twitter timeline later.

EVERY WEEKDAY lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

The Shelbourne (RTÉ One, 8.30pm)

RTÉ’s behind-the-scenes hotel documentary continues, and this week the staff are preparing for a visit from none other than Angela ‘Thinks We’re At Work’ Merkel. Stand by for explosive revelations about late-night binges in the Horseshoe Bar… sigh… if only. But an interesting insight into how Merkel lived on her visit here.

Glee (Sky One, 9pm)

Remember when Glee was a surprise hit? Now the pop-covers phenomenon has reached its 100th episode, and they’re pulling out all the stops. This includes Gwyneth Paltrow doing a cover of Pharrell’s Happy, FYI. #glee

The Secret Life of Students (Channel 4, 10pm)

Last in the series of Channel 4′s interesting documentary on how students live – with access to their texts, mails and social media posts. As the term ends, they’re asked if they struck the right balance between studying and partying. Expect them all to answer “Yes” through bleary eyes.

Everybody’s talking about: Better Call Saul

This might not look like a promotional billboard for Better Call Saul, but it is. As the first promotional gimmick for the Breaking Bad spin-off, huge billboards for the fictional lawyer have been erected around the show’s Albuquerque, New Mexico location.

We learned earlier this month that when we meet Saul’s character in the show, he’ll actually be known as Jimmy McGill – and the series will track his transformation into the Saul Goodman we know and love.

Or flick over for:

  • Dr No (ITV4, 9pm) The first ever Bond movie.
  • Commonwealth Games (BBC One, 7pm) After last night’s opening ceremony, the sport starts happening in Glasgow.
  • Dick Dickman PI (RTÉ Two, 11.35pm) If you haven’t had enough Brendan O’Carroll, here he is in a 2006 private investigator spoof. You’re welcome.
  • Shed of the Year (Channel 4, 8pm) The year’s best shed. Nuff said.

More: Will the new Star Wars movie be filmed on Skellig Michael?>
