A biopic of the Irish poet Brendan Behan, beginning as a 16-year-old Behan is imprisoned in Borstal after a Republican bombing mission is thwarted. Directed by Peter Sheridan and starring a young Danny Dyer as Behan’s pal Charlie Milwall.
What’s The Right Diet For You? A Horizon Special (BBC2, 9pm)
Ah look, just as you were about to give up on your New Year’s resolution. A team of scientists selected 75 clinically obese people and tailored a diet and weight loss programme to explore three root causes of obesity: genes, hormones and emotional eating.
Nature’s Weirdest Events (BBC2, 8pm)
New series of the nature programme presented by Chris Packham, who explores strange happenings around the globe. Tonight, he investigates the scores of pigs found swimming in the Caribbean and a tick that is turning America vegetarian. Interesting.
Everyone’s talking about… #PennyDreadful
Season 2 of the fantasy/horror TV series is on the way, and the trailer was released yesterday – it gives a sneak peak of more monsters, more of Eva Green being a badass, and more of the lovely Dublin set.
