What to watch on TV tonight: Wednesday
EVERY WEEKDAY lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.
The Great British Bake Off Final (BBC One, 8pm)
Yes, tonight brings us the climax of the series that weekly grips the nation with soggy bottoms and foreskin-like confections. Remaining contestants Richard, Luis and Nancy will battle for dominance in the arena of cake, as thousands of viewers tweet mild sexual innuendo. Unmissable. #gbbo
Extreme Brat Camp (Channel 4, 10pm)
One of those Channel 4 documentaries combining an incredibly glib title and a profoundly serious issue: this film looks at the “child intervention industry”, in which kids with behavioural problems are shipped out to facilities that promise to mend their ways. It’s an industry worth more than $2billion in the States.
Our Island (TV3, 10.05pm)
Original TV3 series looking at the wonders of Ireland’s spectacular coastline and the people who base their lives around it. Tonight’s first episode covers Ulster, all the way around from Warrenpoint to Bundoran. #ourisland

American Crime Story will be the next True Detective. That’s the promise being made by network FX, who’ve commissioned the new anthology crime show as a partner of their phenomenally successful American Horror Story.
The first 10-episode season will centre around the OJ Simpson case, and is being helmed by Ryan Murphy – creator of Nip/Tuck, Glee, and AHS itself. Expectations are high.
