What to watch on TV tonight: Wednesday

Here are the shows that’ll be on your Twitter timeline this evening.

Every lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Downton Abbey (TV3, 9pm)

Irish viewers get their Downton Abbey fix tonight – in this episode, a dinner party with the politician Neville Chamberlain goes horribly wrong. We won’t say how, but viewers across the pond were certainly shocked by it. #downtonabbey

Magic Mike (Film4, 9pm)

Channing Tatum stars as a man making ends meet as the star performer in an all-male stripping troupe. It’s not as frothy as it seems though, and much darker than the recent sparkly, comedic sequel. Ride it, my pony. #magicmike

Back to the Future Part II (ITV2, 6.50pm)

We’re surprised that the only TV channel to pay homage to Back to the Future Day is ITV2 – if you’re at home for the day, they’re showing the first film at 4.30pm. The sequel is the focus of today’s festivities though, and features the famous hoverboard and self-tying sneakers. #backtothefuture

The special, which is rumoured to be set in 1895, will see Sherlock and Watson fighting some old-timey crime.
