What to watch on TV tonight: Wednesday

Here are the shows that’ll be on your Twitter timeline this evening.

Every lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Love Actually (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)

YES! Our favourite pile of Christmassy shite is on the telly. There’s no denying that Love Actually is problematic, but by God we’ll be planting ourselves on the couch come 9.35pm. #loveactually

The Apprentice (BBC1, 9pm)

The final five contestants will face four of Lord Sugar’s most trusted advisors for a gut-wrenching interview. CVs will be pored over, business plans will be ripped apart, and no stone will go unturned. Gulp. #theapprentice

Love You To Death: A Year Of Domestic Violence (BBC2, 9pm)

Documentarian Vanessa Engle names each of the 86 women killed by their partners during 2013, and speaks to several more survivors of domestic violence. Not an easy watch, but something that cannot be ignored.

Everyone’s talking about: House of Cards

Frank Underwood is back! A special campaign ad aired during last night’s Republican debate in the US, announcing the news season of the hit Netflix drama.

Mark your calendars for March 4, people. It’s happening.

Or flick over for…

  • Paul O’Grady: For the Love of Dogs at Christmas (UTV Ireland, 8pm) A timely reminder that pets aren’t just for Christmas, they’re for life.
  • The Supervet (Channel 4, 8pm) And yet more animal-related sobbing, as Noel Fitzpatrick attends to an Alsation puppy that needs hip surgery.
  • Peep Show (Channel 4, 10pm) It’s the last ever episode! *weeps*
  • Licence To Kill (RTÉ2, 10.10pm) Documentary charting the recovery of young people injured in car accidents.
  • Jennifer’s Body (Channel 4, 12.30am) If you’re up late… This comedy horror starring Megan Fox is worth a watch.
