What to watch on TV tonight: Wednesday
EVERY WEEKDAY lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.
This Old Thing (Channel 4, 8pm)
Dawn O’Porter (aka the very funny person who’s married to Chris O’Dowd) is launching her new TV show about vintage clothes. She’s on a mission to persuade people that buying old stuff is the way forward. And tonight she’s taking on Chevonne, who refuses to shop anywhere but the high street. Did we mention that Dawn O’Porter is fine and excellent craic? #thisoldthing
Ireland’s Summer Heatwave (TV3, 8pm)
TV3 tread exciting new ground in the world of Irish documentary, by making a film about last summer’s weather. Yes. Remember that good weather we had last summer? This is a documentary about it. Includes Irish celebrities reminiscing about summers gone by. Serious Twitter potential.
My Daughter The Teenage Nudist (More4, 10pm)
Yes, it’s another documentary only Channel 4 could make. An 18-year-old named Mollie has decided to take up nudism. She broaches the subject with her parents by going on a naked bike ride, then showing them the pics on Facebook – leading to the unforgettable sight of her poor mum explaining that her dad is “A very private man… A strong man.” Kids eh?

ITV have released the first teaser trailer for the fifth season of the politeness-and-petticoats drama, which is due out later this year. It features an extremely ominous-sounding voiceover declaring that change is on the way, and noting “a shaking in the ground”.
Surely this can’t be related to Maggie Gyllenhaal asking for a role?
Or switch over for…
