What to watch on TV tonight: Saturday

Here’s the telly people will be talking about tomorrow.

DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Shutter Island (RTÉ 2, 9.25pm)

It’s not quite Halloween yet, so it’s perhaps appropriate to settle in for a not-quite-scary film. The Scorcese and DiCaprio team nail it again with this psychological drama that also stars Michelle Williams, Ben Kinglsey and Mark Ruffalo. An excellent watch – even if you’ve seen it before. #ShutterIsland

The X Factor (TV3, 8pm)

Last week Freddy performed on the X Factor stage for the last time after losing out to Finnish powerhouse Saara in the sing-off. The stakes get ever higher as the remaining acts sing again. Will there be drama? Who knows. But the contestants’ X Factor hopes are on the line. #TheXFactor

The Ray D’Arcy Show (RTÉ One, 9.55pm)

Ray will be joined by ’90s heart-throb Chesney Hawkes, Mrs Brown’s Boys’ Rory Cowan and Ross O’Carroll Kelly author Paul Howard. Chloe and Jamie O’Herlihy from Cork will also be on, as they discuss the reality of being transgender in Ireland and will chat to Ray about growing up together, as well as their hopes and dreams for the future. #RayDArcy

Everybody’s talking about: the return of Black Mirror

Well, its debut on Netflix yesterday (after the first two seasons were on Channel 4).

People binged, hard:

Charlie Brooker’s brilliant futuristic anthologies are being lapped up – but given its psychological nature, it’s probably the last show you’d want to be bingeing on:

Good luck out there (and enjoy the longer episodes and extended series).

  • The Fall (RTÉ One, 11.20pm) Another chance to see episode four.
  • The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (Film4, 9pm) Ben Stiller’s visually-impressive attempt to take the classic character to the big screen.
  • Revolutionary Road (BBC2, 11.15pm) KATE AND LEO. But nothing like Titanic, obviously.
  • Strictly Come Dancing (BBC One, 6.35pm) The show goes on.
  • European Rugbaí Champions Cup (TG4, 11.10pm) A chance to catch up on all today’s games – including Munster’s emotional return to the pitch since the loss of Anthony Foley.
