The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice (Channel 4, 10pm)

After Tuesday night’s relatively well received reboot of GBBO comes the companion show – hosted by the returning Jo Brand. She is joined by new GBBO judge Prue Leith, as well as a panel of famous Bake Off fans who’ll give their take on the 12 new bakers and their debut bakes.

The Hangover (RTÉ 2, 9pm)

Perfect for anyone stumbling home from the McGregor fight in Vegas this week. RTÉ know how to schedule movies. Everyone knows the plot at this stage – just be thankful that it’s not one of the sequels.

Electric Picnic Preview: 2017 Build-Up (RTÉ 2, 11pm)

Blathnaid Treacy offers an insight to the festival’s atmosphere on the eve of the event, presenting build-up to the various performances in Stradbally this weekend. LET’S DO THIS.

Everybody's talking about... The Simpsons has sacked its award-winning composer Alf Clausen after 27 years

Clausen has scored more than 560 episodes of the series, as Variety reports today:

Clausen told Variety that he received a call from “Simpsons” producer Richard Sakai that the company was seeking “a different kind of music” and that he would no longer be scoring the longtime Fox hit.

Tributes have been pouring in from figures in television since the news came out:

The famous Danny Elfman theme tune will be kept, but it seems like another nail in the coffin of the once-great show.
