What to watch on TV tonight: Friday

Here are the shows that will be on your Twitter timeline this evening.

Every lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

The Graham Norton Show (BBC One, 10.35pm)

It’s a triple whammy of Irish on the couch tonight, with Graham welcoming Chris O’Dowd and Colin Farrell into studio. Rachel Weisz and Dawn French make up the rest of the stellar, Irish-dominated lineup. #GrahamNorton

TFI Friday (Channel 4, 8pm)

After the trial version went so well earlier this year, Chris Evans returns with a brand new full series of the show. Tonight’s opening episode starts off with a bang, featuring U2, Take That, Steve Coogan, Slaves and Saoirse Ronan. Let’s party like it’s 1999. #TFIFriday

Alan Carr: Chatty Man (Channel 4, 10pm)

Gasp! Even more Irish guests feature on a UK chat show tonight, with Sharon Horgan joining Alan in studio to chat away about the new series of Catastrophe. Catherine Tate will also be in to talk about her new film, while Mercury Prize-nominated Roisin Murphy will be playing. Which means we might just have hit peak Irish chat show guest levels in the UK this week.  #ChattyMan

Everyone’s talking about… that lad who was kicked off the The X Factor is back on now

Mason Noise had a big bust up with Simon last weekend, but thanks to a clearing of the air with Cowell last night, he’s back in the running.

Tom Bleasby withdrawing from the contest has paved the way for Mason to return. Expect some serious fireworks.

Or flick over for…

  • The Late Late Show (RTÉ One, 9.35pm) Always there for you. You know you’ll flick it on because it’s Friday night.
  • Robin Hood (RTE 2, 10.05pm) Russell Crowe’s take on the famed medieval fighter. Ridley Scott directs and Cate Blanchett stars too.
  • Later… with Jools Holland (BBC Two, 11.35pm) An extended version of the show from earlier in the week, where an Irish band turned plenty of heads.
  • The Hunt for Red October (RTÉ One 11.55pm) It’s the weekend, you’re definitely allowed stay up ridiculously late watching this Tom Clancy-based classic.
