What to watch on TV tonight: Wednesday
Every lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.
Father Ted Christmas Special (Channel 4, 10.30pm)
IT’S HERE. The one thing that makes every Irish household sit back and know that it’s finally Christmas might just be the Father Ted festive special being on the telly. Todd Unctious is perhaps the finest guest character to ever grace the show, and the battle for the Golden Cleric is utterly gripping/farcical. Don’t forget Ireland’s biggest lingerie section, either. Fa la la la la, la la la la. #FatherTed
Higher Hopes (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)
This documentary follows conductor and choir master David Brophy as he expands the homeless choir project – this time in the city of Cork. The High Hopes choir created headlines last year and might very well do so again in 2015 thanks to this doc. #HigherHopes
The Amazing Spiderman (RTÉ 2, 7.05pm)
It was only a couple of years since the Toby Maguire version of Peter Parker finished up, but it didn’t stop the new-new Spiderman being a MASSIVE success. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are excellent as the leads, and Rhys Ivans is as chilling a villain as you’re likely to see. Well worth a watch. #AmazingSpiderman
Everyone’s talking about… RTÉ’s continuing inability to get the Rubberbandits’ documentary info correct
First, we had this in the RTÉ Guide:
The Bandits have put together a documentary on the 1916 Rising, not a comedy preview of next year.
Then last night, the Rubberbandits had to correct them again:

Ah lads!
The important thing here is that the documentary is on New Year’s Eve at 11pm. And that’s the end of the matter now (hopefully).
Or flick over for…
