Blindboy from The Rubberbandits will be on The Late Late tonight YouTube

What to watch on TV tonight: Friday

Here are the shows that’ll be on your Twitter timeline this evening.

Every lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

The Late Late Show (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)

The first Late Late of 2016 looks set to be an interesting one – with the main draw being a panel discussion on the 100th anniversary of the 1916 Rising. The chat will feature BlindboyBoatclub of The Rubberbandits, Ivan Yates, Martina Devlin and artist Robert Ballagh. Sinead Burker, known to many as Minnie Melange, and Emma Donoghue, author of Room, are other notable guests in having a natter with Tubs. #LateLate

Amy (Channel 4, 9pm)

The much talked about Amy Winehouse documentary makes its way on to the telly tonight – after only being released in cinemas last summer. It’s already been shortlisted for a Grammy Award for Best Music Film, and it’s definitely worthy of such praise. A serious option for a Friday night in. #Amy

The Graham Norton Show (BBC One, 10.35pm)

James Nesbitt, Ralph Fiennes and Tracey Ullman join our Graham on the couch tonight. Not the most stellar lineup that’s ever been assembled, but you know you’re guaranteed laughs and good chat no matter what. #GrahamNorton

Everybody’s talking about… The sixth season of Girls is going to be its very last

That’s right.

When the new season of Lena Dunham’s Girls hits HBO next year it will be the show’s final bow.

Dunham has said that her upcoming 30th birthday is the perfect time to end the show. Which has led to some philosophical questions:

Next January will be the long goodbye.

Or switch over for…

  • Hot Fuzz (ITV2, 9pm) Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in their absolute prime.
  • Celebrity Big Brother: Eviction (Tv3, 9pm) The first eviction of many is upon us.
  • Match of the Day Live (BBC One, 7.30pm) The FA Cup is here, and Liverpool play Exeter in the unfamiliar surroundings of Friday night.
  • Inglorious Basterds (Film4, 9pm) Everything you want in a Tarantino movie, really.
