What to watch on TV tonight: Tuesday
DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.
The Guard (Film4, 11:10pm)
Brendan Gleeson and Don Cheadle’s modern Irish classic might brighten up a stormy Tuesday evening. We all know the plot at this stage – slick, uptight FBI agent has to work with the Gardaí on an international drugs operation – but that won’t stop us watching it again. It’s the best movie on the telly tonight by a long way. #TheGuard
The X-Files (RTE 2, 9.55pm)
It might be getting mixed reviews so far, but it’s still nice to have Mulder and Scully back on our screens in 2016. In tonight’s third episode of the new season, a dead body in the woods see the pair investigate whether it was an animal attack, a serial killer or just maybe “a strange creature as described by eyewitnesses”. We’re guessing the latter. #TheXFiles
The Supervet (Channel 4, 9pm)
Irish Supervet Professor Noel Fitzpatrick is back for a new series tonight – as he tackles more of the UK’s most difficult pet cases. Tonight, he performs a risky procedure to save the life of a cockapoo puppy. Our very own Pet Detective. #TheSupervet

And it all got a bit emotional for many watching:
A fitting tribute.
