What to watch on TV tonight: Thursday

Here are the shows that will be on your Twitter timeline later.

Every lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Tommy: To Tell You The Truth (RTÉ One, 11.15pm)

This was originally shown back in 2014, but it’s worth the watch again. The camera follows Tommy Tiernan around on his European stand-up tour where he performs an improvised set to his audience each night. The best thing is, you get to see Tommy think on his feet in the hardest setting of #ToTellYouTheTruth

Zero Dark Thirty (RTÉ Two, 9pm)

The Irish premiere of the CIA drama hits RTÉ Two tonight – and it’s highly regarded for a very good reason. Jessica Chastain spends ten years searching for Osama Bin Laden and it’s all kinds of tense #ZeroDarkThirty

Who Do You Think You Are? (BBC One, 9pm)

Actress Jane Seymour traces her Jewish ancestry, and her search takes her across Europe where she uncovers some fascinating facts about her family #WhoDoYouThinkYouAre

Everybody’s talking about: Youth Hostelling With Chris Eubank

The Alan Partridge joke from 18 years ago, where the character suggested ‘Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank’ as a potential TV show, has dramatically come to life in the last 24 hours.

Why? Well they made an actual ad for it:

Hostelworld – Meet The World / YouTube

Anyone who is even remotely aware of Partridge thinks this is a big deal:

Excellent.

Or switch over for…

  • Parking Mad (BBC One, 10.35pm) A fly-on-the-wall series that follows parking attendants around as they do their work. Sound like an Alan Partridge pitch? Maybe. But the pun in the title is worth it alone.
  • Double Jeopardy (TV3, 9pm) The legal/murder thriller that has beguiled and confused viewers for years – as Ashley Judd tries to take her revenge in dramatic fashion.
  • Love/Hate (RTÉ One, 10.10pm) The nightly run of the final ever series of Love/Hate has given everyone a chance to watch it all over again. Tonight’s the second last episode, and we all know how it ends.
