What to watch on TV tonight: Thursday

Here are the shows that will be on your Twitter timeline this evening.

DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

The Commitments (TV3, 9pm)

Is there any movie in the whole world you would rather see come on the telly than The Commitments on Paddy’s Day? As Michael Collins showed last night, even though we’ve seen them all before there’s no better excuse to watch them again than when they come on the TV. A perfect wind down to a busy day. #TheCommitments

Philomena (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)

The premiere of the fact-based drama starring Judy Dench and Steve Coogan hits RTÉ One tonight. It’s a story of 1950s Ireland, a baby that’s taken from her mother, and their eventual reunion 50 years later. Heartbreaking stuff. #Philomena

Home of the Year (RTÉ One, 8.30pm)

The third episode of the series examines a 19th-century two-storey thatched cottage, a lakeside cabin in Co Westmeath and a remodeled 1980s bungalow in Co Galway. It’s just pure property porn, and it’s always nice to have a gawk around some lovely houses. #HomeoftheYear

Everyone’s talking about… Magician and telly stalwart Paul Daniels sadly passing away this morning

The news came in early this morning, and everyone who grew up watching him on telly paid their respects:

Daniels was a guest on The Late Late Show as recently as 2012:

He brought magic to so many people’s childhoods, and will be missed.
